I have been one to praise LeBron James for his great talent and ability on the court and his behavior off the court, however this past month, he has done a couple of things that were really disappointing! First he didn't shake hands with the Orlando Magic players after losing to them in the Eastern Conference Finals, and second after being dunked on by an Xavier basketball player named Jordan Crawford at one of his camps, he conspired to keep the tapes from being seen by anyone. Now let's revisit the first one, it's bad enough that he didn't shake hands with the players after the game, but his reasoning afterwards that he's a winner and can't congratulate someone after beating him, well that's even worse! Now back to the dunk, does LeBron think that anyone that attempts to block as many shots as himself, will never get dunked on? In fact he was dunked on by Magic rookie Courtney Lee twice in the series in which he was defeated, Something that I might add got nearly the attention that it should of! Now I'm as much of an egomaniac as any other ridiculously overpaid, talented guy in the forefront of his field, but even I right a bad article every once in a while. I think some of these guys are trying so hard to follow the Michael Jordan playbook, well let's just say King James is overdoing it!

I've always liked Tennis, especially the big tournaments like Wimbledon, the French Open, and the U.S. Open!  Why is it that tennis players fall to the ground in this unbelievably fake joy and emotion after winning? Almost like Kobe Bryant's contrived repeat of a Michael Jordan Celebration Ten years earlier after winning this year's championship! ..Oh yeah the Australian Open is a tennis major also!

I hate to talk about money, but how is it that Antoine Walker, an NBA Ballplayer for 10 years, who earned approximately 99.6 million dollars over that time could be charged with writing a million dollars in bad checks to Las Vegas casinos?

How is it that an NFL Player, Quarterback Matt Cassel of Kansas City, can sit on the bench for 5 years, play one year and command a salary of over ten million dollars over six years? Oh yeah the NF L's number one draft pick, is going to get 73 million over that time, and he hasn't played one game.

Can the American League in baseball really be that much better than the National League?(They've won 12 All-Star games in a row?

Did you really think Steroids helped baseball players as much as it appears it did?

Why does everybody keep dumping Jessica Simpson?

If these big time NBA Free Agents wanted to win so much, why do they continually go to teams that will least help them accomplish that goal? I never here LeBron and D-Wade talking about hooking up. I wonder why?

Did you see TO posing nude on the cover of a magazine for his new reality show?

Why is it that I can't think of anything good to say about the NHL?

Who is Boxing's Heavyweight Champion of the World?

What is MMA?

What is UFC?

Can you name five golfers besides Tiger Woods?

How many of you guys out there really know how to play No Limit Poker?

How could I write this without taking a swipe at the WNBA, now name me 5 WNBA Players? Anybody?

Why don't these multi-millionaires call a limo, or a cab before getting into a car after drinking and getting high all night?

Did you realize that this past Monday and Tuesday(Baseball's All-Star Break) are the only two days, where no professional sports are played?

When does Football start again?

The death of ex-football player Steve McNair has brought on a wide range of response, from people wanting to acknowledge his fine career as a football player, and his record of great community service, as well as being a father and role model for young kids. Others want to focus on the disturbing circumstances, and unfortunate details surrounding his death. Well I've said it before, these athletes are too often judged and critiqued in their personal lives, almost as if it's one of their games. We too often hold these players or performers to a standard higher than the rest of us are living by. Why? Because they earn a lot of money doing things we wish we could do? Because our kids look up to them and love them? Well why does Steve McNair owe your kids more than you do? I won't go as far as Charles Barkley did and say he is not a role model, but he certainly is not more of one than we are to our own children. Not to condone infidelity, but if we have not been unfaithful ourselves, we know someone who has, yet it's not news worthy because it's an everyday person. Steve McNair may have cheated, but do you think little Rick, Tom Sally or Sue is more affected by him, or by hearing you and your spouse argue about whose number is in your phone, or why you got home so late and smell and look like that. Too many times we allow our thinking to be manipulated by what we read or hear.  Steve McNair was actually the victim in this story. No matter how poor his choices were, this is not what we expect to happen. Another lesson I guess to be aware of consequences, you never know what they will be. Well this includes judging people because life has a funny way of teaching us lessons.  Sadly years from now, when Steve McNair's name is mentioned, we'ere going to think of the horrible way in which he died. An ending no matter good or bad, is still part of the story, and these events will be part of his! However  before a week ago everything we ever heard about Steve McNair was positive. Let's remember that we celebrate life, and all that it was. This man was a father ,husband, son, and friend, and no one thing anybody does should be the deciding factor on how we are remembered.

Do You Remember the Time that you fell in love with Michael Jackson's Music? Now wait one moment before you answer that question. I can imagine that I was exposed to Lil' Michael while I was still within my mother's womb!  So I guess I've been in love with his music my whole life. Is he my favorite music artist of all time? Yes, but sadly I've just been reminded of that, because of his untimely death. I now realize that I as many of you, I took my admiration of his great talents for granted. It happened when I allowed my perception of him, to be formed by his eccentric behavior, rather than his musical genius and his loving heart. It happened when Michael began to change his physical features and appearance, almost a transformation. What was he trying to change I wondered?  What could make a person who literally had women falling at his feet, feel so insecure? It happened when I allowed the media to tell me who and what Michael was, when Michael through his music was telling me. At  some point we just forgot about the magician who Moon-walked across the stage that night! The only person that could make a macho guy, dance in the mirror with a glove on his hand, and practice spinning around on his toes, while wearing a pink shirt! Make people stand in line for days to get tickets. We forgot about I Wanna Rock Wit U, and how amazing that Thriller video was, girls kissing their boyfriends in the dark, pretending they were Michael. We forgot about Human Nature and how cool he made Penny Loafers look. We forgot about the scream and the crotch pull in the Bad video, and we forgot that cool lean in the Smooth Criminal video. We forgot that everytime he came out with a new album, we couldn't wait to see what he would do next to wow us. Michael even made you memorize the words to all his songs, back when there was an album to read them off of(lol)!  Not many people can make you want to be just like them. Well it seems he made everyone want to be just like him, and that can't be forgotten, it won't be forgotten. Michael has been compared to other artists, such as: Frank Sinatra, Mel Torme, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Madonna, Whitney Houston, but there is no comparison. Musically all these artists brought something to the table, but they were restricted by their music, and it's genre. Michael had the whole package, whether you lived in the far east and ate with chopsticks for dinner, or you lived in a trailer park and drink beers for dinner, Michael was loved. It was truly an international fan base. Yesterday we said goodbye to The Greatest Entertainer we've ever seen, and maybe that anyone will ever see! It was further noticed, by the outpouring of Love and affection on display at his Memorial service. People watched and cried all over the world yesterday to say goodbye to Michael Jackson, and Remember the Time they fell in love with his Music.

Well the 09' NBA Finals are over, and as pretty  much expected the Lakers ran through the Magic. The big question is now, what does this do for Kobe Bryant's place in history? I think that even a basketball novice, can watch this man , and appreciate his pure basketball skill, high energy , drive, and competitiveness! The thing that has always haunted Kobe, is that he has a made up identity. Yes and we all know who it's made up after, from the shaved head, to the fist pump, to the walk,  to changing his number, to him even jumping up and down kicking his legs after winning title the other night. Any real fan knows that these are not coincidences! If it's anything we all hate is a copycat!  As brilliant of an athlete as he is, it's sad that he is not comfortable enough with himself to let his ability speak for itself. Everything with Kobe seems contrived, or staged made up. It has been reported that Kobe had it arranged where only his wife and kids could be waiting for him after games to kiss!  After the finals where were all the other wives, and children of players and coaches?  Even the hugs, and on court celebration looked uncomfortable! It's not supposed to be, it's supposed to be fun , happy, enjoyable, a natural exuberance. He has been praised for his attitude and change, yet he is lucky to still be on a team that looking back, had that Chicago trade gone through where would he be now?  A couple of lucky trades which do happen in the NBA: Pau Gasol for nothing, Trevor Ariza for I cant remember? Now he's in Two straight Finals. Even the downplaying of  winning without Shaq! Why not just say, yes this would be a special one because I wasn't considered the best player on those teams. Many greats are considered greats because they were the man, and in order for me to be in that pantheon, I had to win one without Shaq! That's Real, that's respectable. Look this is is a guy that barring injury, will finish at least 3rd all time in scoring behind (Kareem,Malone) maybe second. He has 4 titles, and of course could still win more which is more than all the greats except for Russell, Kareem, Jordan, and Magic! Add to that an Olympic Medal, his great durability, and competitiveness. The guy is a top 10 Player of All Time! Now readers of this blog would say, Kobe is a top 10 player of all time, why is he only the second best player in the league right now? Because the No. 1 Guy is going to end up being one of the five best players of all time! Including the Olympics Kobe had a great year, not missing a game playing at his normal level of excellence, and leading his team to a Championship. What he has to do now is just play basketball, and let his tremendous ability, work ethic, and desire to be the best lead the way, because clearly that's the best thing he has going for him!

The Finals are upon us, and we didn't get the Lebron vs. Kobe showdown that we all anticipated. So now we get David Stern slapping Lebron with an after the fact fine for not addressing the media, and shaking hands with Orlando. Were getting the Kobe is determined and focused to win without Shaq, and can cement himself as one of the best of all time! Well I don't think this proves greatness, he's facing an Orlando team that is a finesse team, as is his Lakers. They match-up very well, because there are no bullies to pound, and beat up Kobe, Gasol, and Lamar Odom! As well as The Magic have played, they want to shoot threes, run, and play pretty basketball. It won't be Kobe's will to win, or his ability to close. It will just be Orlando's soft nature, lack of defense, and inexperience that will lead the Lakers to victory.  Kobe doesn't understand why he is mocked, and vilified by hardcore fans, and  Basketball experts, well his fabricated gestures, and made up faces of passion, and desire leave a bad taste in your mouth! Kobe still tries too hard, he just needs to go out and play, and the accolades will come to him. He cant make us love him, as I think he tries so hard to do! Just play ball, and he will get what he deserves. The Lakers are not a great team yet, but they will be a championship team again after this year, so we will celebrate it for what it's worth after they win.

The Lakers will win the series probably in 6 games, because as I stated above, they  match-up really well against the Magic. Basketball is all about style of play and matchups. What Orlando could do against Cleveland, wont fair well against the Lakers. They are a team that lives and dies by the jump shot, and if it falls as it did against Cle(shot 60% from three) they will be in good shape. If they don't it will look like the lakers are long, and more athletic  defending the perimeter shot, and they will struggle to win two games!
